CWB-Ireland in Lesotho :
A collaboration with the South African CWB
CWB-Ireland sent a team of 3 clowns and a documentary filmmaker to join Project Njabulo Logistics Coordinator, James Evans, on a month-long expedition in Lesotho to continue our work both in Maseru and the rural mountainous areas. We performed 34 shows for audiences ranging from 30 in a rural village near Semonkong (central Lesotho ) to 1800
at a mission school near the border of South Africa in Maputsoe.
A total 11,000 children and adults experienced the wonderful play and laughter of Jonathan Gunning , Bryan Quinn, and Brazilian clown, Daniela Biancardi. The expedition was made possible with vehicle sponsorship from Imperial
Car Rental and the wonderful hospitality of St. Luke’s Mission, Malealea Lodge and Pony Trekking Centre, and Semonkong Lodge.
Perhaps most memorable was the final 3 days in which the team left their trusty vehicle in Semonkong and saddled themselves in Basotho ponies to start an outreach program with remote villages unreachable by road!
