2017 was a fun packed year for CWB Ireland, we played for children in refugee camps in Greece, Jordan and Lebanon. These tours are our direct response to the ongoing crisis in Syria and the traumatic situation they have to deal with. Giving children the space to be children again by offering emotional relief through laughter.
CWB Ireland’s reaction to the increasing need in Ireland is to be increasingly busy doing what we do best for 10 years.
We have given circus and theatre performances on numerous occasions in Reception Centres around the country including the Millstreet, Clonakilty, Tralee and Cork Reception Centres numerous times throughout the year, doing shows, workshops and even an Easter Egg Hunt!
We also gave circus performances Balseskin Reception Centre in Dublin for Universal Children’s Day and gladly played there again as part of the CWB Xmas Tour. As part of this tour we also donated our talents by playing for the Migrants Rights Centre in Dublin.
And that’s not all we also performed shows for the Waterford Direct Provision Centres in Garter Lane Art Centre, Waterford and entertained the families of the Glouthane Direct Provision Centres on a number of occasions and also Clondalkin Towers, Dublin.
On top of this CWB staged an event in Ballaghadereen for the Syrian families to encourage integration. Not to mention presentations and talks in schools and festivals around the country
We are committed to making a difference, one smile at a time.
While all these performances and events have been popping up all over the country we have been also been crazy busy doing fundraisers, shaking buckets on the street and doing anything you can imagine to raise much needed funds for our upcoming tour of Iraq, where we will be returning this coming February bringing an amazing magic show to refugee camps around Kurdistan.
Following on the heels of this tour CWB Ireland will be creating and touring another show again in Lebanon in April’18.
So as you can see we have been pretty busy.
